Northwestern Alumni Nominated for Tony Awards

The 74th Annual Tony Awards nominations were announced October 15, 2020, and several Northwestern alumni were recognized for their work in theater this year.
The following alumni received nominations or worked on shows that were nominated:
- Erica Lynn Schwartz for producer of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, which was nominated for Best Musical
- Katie Spelman worked as the associate choreographer for Moulin Rouge! The Musical
- John Logan for Best Book for a Musical for Moulin Rouge! The Musical
- Debbie Bisno and Jamie Joeyen-Waldorf were two of the producers of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, which was nominated for Best Revival of a Play
- Andrew Restieri was a producer for Sea Wall/A Life, which was nominated for Best Play
- Maulik Pancholy was featured in Grand Horizons, which is up for Best Play
- Annelise Baker was in the ensemble for Jagged Little Pill, which was nominated for Best Musical
- Justin Schuman was the fight captain for Tina - the Tina Turner Musical, which is up for Best Musical

The 74th Annual Tony Awards airs on September 26 at 6 p.m. CDT on CBS and will be hosted by Audra McDonald and Leslie Odom, Jr.
