What have you been up to since graduation?
Since graduating, I’ve been putting my theater major to use in a variety of ways. Through ArtistYear, I taught theater and creative writing in a Title I elementary school in Queens for a year. Currently, I am a stagehand at Local One and a teaching artist at the New Victory Theater, which presents shows for young audiences. Outside of work, I’ve been traveling as much as possible and working on some writing.
Who made an impact on your life at Northwestern?
Selena Martinez ’20 was my new member educator in Kappa Delta Chi, a Latina-founded service sorority I joined in my freshman year. She has mentored me in many ways, always made me feel welcome at Northwestern, and continues to be a dear friend.
What does success look like to you?
To me, success means having achieved enough to be able to give back. I felt an immeasurable swell of pride when I returned to my childhood neighborhood to teach through ArtistYear. Whenever I am able to give back to communities that helped me get to Northwestern, I feel that I have truly accomplished something worthwhile.
