What have you been up to since graduation?
By day, I am an analyst working within the Consumer & Insights Analytics group (aptly termed CIA) over at Fifth Third Bank in Chicago. They’re an amazing group of people who have been my close mentors and taken great care of me over the past year. My work currently focuses on transitioning our existing reporting to more sustainable technologies, and I can’t wait to share more about our larger data initiatives in the future.

By night, I am a marathon runner training for my next world major, a jock who climbs rocks, and an aspiring cook pouring my creative energy into starting my own restaurant venture. If you ever want to try my food, my door is always open.

Who made an impact on your life at Northwestern?
Without a doubt, the lifelong friends I made from Northwestern’s Bridge program have made a great impact on my life. As a low-income, first-generation student, it would’ve been rather difficult for me to assimilate to Northwestern’s culture in my first year had I not been introduced to people who shared similar backgrounds and life experiences growing up.

It’s mind-boggling to think about, but they have been a part of me for almost a third of my life. They are my closest confidants, my role models, my teachers, my fiercest supporters, and my pride and joy. I’d like to give a special thanks to the program staff for building the bridge that connects us all.

What does success look like to you?
As they often say, it depends! This is not to deflect but goalposts move. I used to think it was getting into a good university. Getting a C. Getting an internship. Getting a “real” job. Getting an apartment. Getting out of my shell. Getting friends. Now, I’m slowing it down a notch. I think as long as I’m living in a way that the past, present, and future me can be proud of, I’m doing okay. And I got my driver’s license recently.
