What have you been up to since graduation?
Since graduating in June 2023, I worked as a medical assistant at Edens Orthopaedic Center in Lincolnwood, Illinois. In October, I transitioned into a medical scribing position at North Arlington Pediatrics, the pediatric clinic I have been a patient at for my whole life. Scribing at North Arlington Pediatrics has truly been a full-circle experience, as I am working and learning alongside the physicians who have cared for me since I was only a couple of days old. In July, I will begin medical school at Wayne State University, and I am interested in pursuing orthopaedic surgery. Overall, I am eagerly looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Who made an impact on your life at Northwestern?
For me, the Sheil Catholic Center and the Catholics Student Association (CaSA) student organization had the biggest impact on my life at Northwestern. My Catholic faith is extremely important to me, and both Sheil and CaSA provided such a welcoming environment to grow deeper in faith and fellowship with my peers. Each week I would always look forward to the new, creative event that CaSA would host—the guacamole contest, interfaith barn dance, “upper rooms,” and Revival were some of my favorites. A highlight of Sheil was its faculty, who were incredibly devoted to the wellbeing of students on campus. Whether it was a deep conversation about Catholicism or discussing a significant life/career choice, chaplain Father Bradley’s door was always open. Throughout my four years, Sheil and CaSA really became a second family to me, and I hope future students will have the same enriching experience that I did.
What does success look like to you?
Success can mean different things to different people. For me, success is the ability to make a positive, meaningful impact on the individuals and community that surround me. Whether it's through acts of kindness, mentorship, or simply offering a listening ear, success is realized in the moments where we uplift and empower others. If, at the end of my journey, I have made a positive difference in even one person's life, then I will consider myself truly successful.
