NU Day @ Wrigley 2024
On May 22, 2024, more than 3,400 members of the Northwestern community attended the Cubs game at Wrigley Field for NU Day @ Wrigley. The annual tradition dates to at least 1980, according to University Archives. Before the game, where the Cubs took on the Atlanta Braves, alumni celebrated the occasion at Brickhouse Tavern. Inside the Friendly Confines, Bienen School of Music student Jackson Pierzina ’24 sang the national anthem and David Braun, the Dan and Susan Jones Family head football coach, threw out an opening pitch. A portion of the proceeds from the special ticket sales raised more than $13,000 for Northwestern’s Student Activities Assistance Fund, which offers students financial assistance to participate in campus programs and events.
